I work at North Devon Resort and have seen lots of images of our new 3 bedroom sea view hot tub residences, so when I was invited to stay in one, I was keen to check it out. However, as I drove into the resort on a cold, rainy day, I thought that my hot tub holiday was going to be a wash-out.
Initial impressions of the 3 bed hot tub residence
On entering the residence, despite knowing how it would look, I was still blown away. You walk through the door and are next to the kitchen, which is clean, sleek and full of every amenity – a fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. The cupboards are filled with good quality cups, bowls, plates, cutlery, cooking dishes and pans. It’s a great space for cooking a meal to eat around the dining table, or on sunnier days, to take out and eat around the table on the terrace – al-fresco eating overlooking the sea!

The dining area is dominated by a huge statement mirror, which I absolutely loved, and the comfy throw and fluffy cushions in the living area were a nice touch too. All the decorations and furnishings are in ocean tones or made from natural materials, which really complement each other and give out a relaxing vibe. It was a cold day during my visit, but the radiators soon warmed up the living space.

Dining area – with THAT mirror!

The residence has a bathroom (with a bath and shower) plus the master bedroom has an ensuite shower room too. There are three bedrooms, each is thoughtfully decorated with nice artwork, colourful blinds and beds you can just sink into.

My hot tub experience
It was a cold, rainy night and despite being excited to go into the hot tub, the weather really put me off. I ‘ummed and ahhed’ but finally decided to be brave. I walked out onto a dark, wet terrace feeling a little unsure but I pressed ahead and opened up the hot tub, switched on the bubbles and inset lights, then climbed in.
The rain was starting to pelt down and the night was cold but as I entered the hot tub the warm, inviting water soothed me immediately. I sat on the edge, rested my head behind me and looked up at the stars. The rain splashed against my face and the air was cool but I didn’t care, I was in heaven, hot tub heaven. The water jets massaged by back and shoulders and the warm water lulled me into a calm, serene state. I closed my eyes, relaxed my body and floated, noticing how the stresses and strains of the day had all faded away.

I’ve not experienced a hot tub holiday before, but I would jump at the chance to do this again, whatever the weather.
The three bed sea view hot tub residences are proving to be a hit at North Devon Resort and one of the units has a private sauna too!
